About Simply Daily Puzzles

This website is dedicated to Michael Curl, Crossword Compiler Extraordinaire (16th September 1948 - 5th July 2024)

This website was created by Michael Curl, a lifelong crossword enthusiast.

You can read more about him at this obituary published by The Guardian, who he worked with for many years.

When he died, we - his children, Rachel, Ed and David - felt his life’s work should live on, so the family came together to keep things running. It’s been quite the learning curve!

Michael’s son, Ed Curl, has now taken on the challenge of creating brand new puzzles for you to enjoy for free each and every day of the year, and is relishing his new role as Cruciverbalist.

We really hope you continue to enjoy the site for many years to come!
